Well we changed our name for real this time. It's now Pseudo which is a fancy way to say "fake" or "not really true". Everyone thinks it's cool because we sound more alternative and more creative and the definition is kind of an ironic reference. The other name Carl-Robert came up with was "Rival Tribes". So after much talking the band and our manager Steve decided we would make "Mind The Gap" & "Rival Tribes" both songs or albums.
Alot has changed for the band in only one month. First of all Steve is now manager & publicist, WE CHANGED OUR NAME! It's crazy. We'll keep posting. Check Out the U.I.A. it's pretty cool.

The U.I.A (Carl-Robert)
I recently started a blog called the "Underground Indie Appeal" or "United Institution of Anarchy". It's a blog for novice indie punks to get away from the mainstream and check up on media, and other stuff from up and coming indie-punk bands. You should seriously check it out it's pretty cool.

Led Zeppelin at 'Roo?

The big question everyone is wondering about... Will Led Zeppelin play at Bonnaroo 2008? Will it affect the price of tickets? When British rock band the Cult announced that a band whose name started with "L" and had a "Z" at the beginning of the second half would play at Bonnaroo, some rumors got out. There is definitely a chance that if they do play after all the ticket prices will be much more expensive than the usual $200 bucks considering that at the o2 arena tickets were selling at insane prices of $25,000 dollars a ticket. When you think about it, though, what college kid is gonna pay 20,00 bucks to got to a music fest? Nobody. It's gotten so you can't look in a single music article without reading about it. Aside from all these rumors, be sure to check out the sick new website if you haven't already.

A Major Change (Carl-Robert)
Of all three posts I wrote today (I was home sick) this one is the most important. Steve quit the band... kind of. He hadn't been as commited as he could have been on playing the actual songs, so after alot of talk and second chances he decided it would be best if he quit... kind of. He is now the official photographer, media publicist, part manager, gig organizer, and tambourine player. Basically, he has a more important job than anyone in the "band, band" now. He's still a major part of the music to and is the director and cameraman filming the rockumentary I wrote about (which is going pretty good). Steve will also help majorly on recording studio research. So, you could pretty much say that the future of the band is in his hands. No pressure to him though (HA HA). So here's to our awesome new photographer, media publicist, part manager, and gig organizer. Or just the "media phomanigizer"
Say Good-Bye to "Our" Name
Yes, it's true, if you didn't already know there is apparently already a popular but lame European dance band that had Mind the Gap before us. So, as we desperately try to think of new names, they're feeling guilty (not). We're sticking with MTG for now but please comment if you can think of any good names. We thought of " The Schizophrenics (been done)" "The Impersonations (sounds like a cover band)" and some other horrible names.
Rockumentary (Carl-Robert)
As soon as we can we're gonna start working on a rock doc. about MTG. I have some good footage from our 2 latest gigs and lots of other things we could add in. Also, just the experience of a documentary involves things like clips of us jamming writing songs, being interviewed, etc. It probably won't be finished until next year but who knows. The important thing is that we take it seriously. Maybe once it's finished and burned to a disk we could sell it somewhere (naah)! A few rock docs I highly reccomend are "Rock School", "The Future is Unwritten (Clash)", "Spinal Tap", and I'm desperate to see the new Dylan one...

Almost my Birthday [Clayton]
Well I will be 13 soon. I'm going to have two partys because the band and my friends from school together would be an unimaginable chaos. I don't want that. So I'm going to have a standard PARTY ALL NIGHT AND ROCK YOUR FACES OFF thing at my house with the band. Make songs, hang out downtown, get sugar drunk. That sort of thing (don't worry we'll post that night). Then my school friends and I will go ski for the day. It's gonna be great. Have you noticed how we like to post about partys? It's in our blood I guess.
Peace...

2008-The Year to Record!

Well there was a snow day today. After lunch Clayton went with Steve to sled at a really cool local hill.
We really need to start recording within this year. Carl-Robert thinks we should buy recording equipment and make our own independent label which would take ALOT of money. There are a few good reasons why we should record at another studio though and we've written them below.
1.Their equipment would be way better than ours (and they would be able to work it)
2.At a place like Slaughter House records it costs very little (no block fees) to record an album in a possible one-day session
3.Thousands of dollars cheaper to mix and do finishing touches on an album at a studio (if they have a mix creator...)
4.Better quality sound
5.A recording company that recorded Nirvana's very first album has to be open for new talent. Lucky for us.
Even though we don't know much about it yet (and we should probably find out more) we are seriously considering slaughter-house records for a band like us (open minds are good too!)

Lazy Bones (Carl-Robert)
Clayton and I just keep on writing really good songs one after the other. Today we made a depressing, very meaningful, Sonic Youth inspired song. It'd be a great to possibly have a girl guest-sing for it. We are also seriously considering recording an album sometime this year (more seriously compared to our 2nd post!). We actually have about 4 options open for recording so it'll be fun to finally work with somebody else. Then again we might decide to wait longer and play more smallish gigs for publicity. The gig at the local middle school is coming up so playing for the whole 6th grade will be good for us. Anyway, we've ditched (for good?) alot of our old songs that aren't really that great anymore for our newer, better ones.

About That Time (that we used experimental lyrics) [Clayton]
Actually "About That Time is the great song Carl-Robert and I just made. It's got totally experimental lyrics & it rocks. We're not posting the lyrics because we don't trust you (take that internet pirates). It was fun to take more of a chance on the lyrics instead of having them all be about one thing (which we had been doing before). I can't wait to show Liam & Steve and see what they think of it. Carl-Robert and I always write really great songs and it's so punk-rock. We should try to start recording soon. I think CR knows of a garage recording-studio somewhere in amesbury or something.

"Into The Forest" (Liam+Carl-Robert)
We're working on a new song called "Into The Forest" Clayton doesn't know about it yet but it's kind of a story song like "Tommy". It's about boy who's really shy and kind of retarded but he's unbelievebly good at playing guitar. We're up at Sugarloaf skiing so it will be finished by the end of the weekend.

Update On Liam's Arm (Carl-Robert)
Sorry, apparently he can play bass... just not the top string. what a relief. I finnaly figured how to put videos on youtube now so they hopefully will be there soon (did I already say that before in an earlier post?). Anyway, I just wanted to say that Liam's arm is fine (he just got an average rockstar injury). For all our friends who are reading the blog please remember to comment!!

The Unfortunate Event Of Liam Breaking His Arm... (Carl-Robert)
Liam broke his arm. It was very unexpected because we thought it was just a minor fracture but it turns out to be broken. It got broken at the MTG gig after-party when he tripped. Sadly, now he can't play bass for a while so we'll have to do without melodic rythm for a while. Also, notice how we changed the colors of the blog. GET WELL SOON LIAM!!

New Years!!!
It's now 2008! This is Clayton and we're at Carl-Robert's house for a New Years Party! It's awesome so far and it's about 2:00 in the morning. We're just hanging out and talking about the carriage house gig, writing lyrics and stuff. Annoyingly, we realized we can't call our song Moak "Moak" anymore [for legal resons] so we're going to come up with another cool name. This is the first post of 2008. Also, we FINNALY figured out how to get videos on youtube so we're going to put the whole concert on. You'll be able to see it in about a week. Anyway, Happy New Years (for the third time) officialy!!
